Albert Lee Turner

Albert Lee Turner, 81, passed away on September 24, 2023, in Pocatello, Idaho. He was born on October 17, 1941, in Soda Springs, Idaho to Albert Marion Turner and Edith Melva (Call) Turner. Albert was raised in Soda Springs and graduated from Soda Springs High School in 1959. After graduating from high school, he enlisted in the US Air Force, and served for four years. Albert later obtained a Bachelor’s degree from Idaho State University as well.

He was married to Verna Sharon Johnson Mackey, but later divorced. Al then married Florence June Turner.

He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.

Al was a hard worker and held many different jobs for the City of Soda Springs, the Soda Springs School District as a bus driver and custodian, the fish hatchery, and as a lab worker at Beckers.

He enjoyed camping, hunting, fishing, wood cutting, history, and antiques.

Al was preceded in death by his wife Florence June Turner and both of his parents, Albert Marion Turner and Edith Melva Call.

He is survived by his children Kevin Turner, Tiffany (Shane) McCarthy, and Courtney (Danielle) Turner; and grandchildren Kevin Colton Turner (Kaitlyn Clinger), Krishaun Turner, Brian Turner (Tyanlyn Roberts), Darren Turner, Ryann Turner, Trevor McCarthy, and Kiera McCarthy.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, October 6, 2023, at Wilks Colonial Chapel, 2005 S. 4th Avenue, Pocatello.  Al's family will receive friends and others at a viewing to take place from 9:30-10:45 a.m. prior to the funeral.  Interment will follow the funeral at Fairview Cemetery in Soda Springs, Idaho. 

In lieu of flowers, Al’s family is requesting donations be made towards funeral expenses.
