Agnes passed away peacefully at a local care center on September 14, 2016.
Agnes was the last of eleven children born to Thomas Daniels Brown and Amelia Davies Daniels Brown on February 8, 1918. She was born in Blackfoot, Idaho at her parents' home on Pendlebury Lane where she lived for nineteen years. After she attended school she went to work as a butter wrapper at the Blackfoot Creamery where she made $9.00 a week.
On April 17, 1938 she married the love of her life Welton S. Ward on Easter Sunday in Blackfoot, Idaho. Later they were sealed in the Salt Lake Temple and married for 65 years. To this union there were three daughters born into the family, Linda (Vaughn) Hansen, Marva (Leeroy) Churchill, and Gayle (Alex) Jack.
Agnes was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints serving as a visiting teacher, primary teacher and sang in the choir. Her hobbies were crocheting, sewing, and keeping a neat house and yard. At age 95 she would still use her sewing machine to alter her pants. Agnes liked to sing in the Silver Chords at the Senior Center and attend the retiree's luncheon at ISU Vocational Technical College. She was a member of the Daughter of the Utah Pioneers.
Agnes will be deeply missed by those who knew her. She absolutely loved visitors that she could visit with and then send them home with a piece of candy, chocolate or other type of trinket.
Agnes is survived by her daughters, Linda (Vaughn) Hansen, Marva (Leeroy) Churchill, nine grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren. Agnes was preceded in death by her daughter Gayle Jack.
Her family expresses their gratitude to the staff at Friends and Family, Heritage Home Health Care and Quail Ridge for the outstanding care they provided in Agnes' behalf. And a special thank you to her devoted and loving caregiver Holly Whiting who was both a dear friend and a cherished granddaughter. Her incalculable services to Agnes the last 13 years of her life was invaluable and inspirational.
