Abdul Hamid "Al H." Dailami, 90, passed away Sunday, November 24, 2013 at his home in Logan, Utah. He was born November 23, 1923 to Hussein and Sarah Dailami in Bandar Dilom, Iran, the youngest of 4 children. He was surrounded by his family at his passing.
He lived a remarkable life full of challenges, trials, successes, and triumphs. In 1935, At 12 years old, he began working as a mail boy at the local National Oil Company office, working his way up to an apprenticeship at the machine shop. He continued as a draftsman, and eventually became a marine maintenance engineer. The pinnacle of his career was becoming the head of shipping and transportation for the company; a position he retired from in 1979.
In 1948 he met and married his beautiful bride, Manijeh Jalalzadeh, in Abadan Iran. A family soon followed. He travelled the world, sailed oceans and seas, met national and foreign dignitaries, and lived a life filled with accomplishments, too many to numerate. Regardless of his many great experiences he was blessed to have, he always said that his greatest accomplishment and blessing was raising his seven children. He and Manijeh, along with their youngest son immigrated to the US in 1979, to be close to the rest of their children.
Al is survived by his wife Manijeh; son Farid (Narges); daughter Farideh; son Farshid (Sharee); daughter Farzaneh; daughter Sara (Steve) Allison; daughter Fereshteh (Tim) Aspell; son Farshad (Sayde); and 16 grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, November 30, 2013 at the LDS church building located at 825 North, 200 West, in Logan. A viewing will take place on hour prior to the funeral at the church. Interment will take place at Logan Cemetery.
