William Herbert Mitchell

January 25, 1941 — January 9, 2022

William “Bill” Mitchell, 80, of Pocatello, passed away peacefully in his home on January 9, 2022, with his son and granddaughter by his side. He was born on January 25, 1941, in Mesa, Arizona to Iva Mitchell and Velma Brown.
Bill married Jacqueline on July 25, 1970, in Mesa, Arizona. After her death, he had a very special relationship with Sheena McCoy.
He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and race cars. Bill loved his grandchildren dearly. He loved watching football and took great pride in all his work and was a very good cook. Bill often donated to Veterans’ organizations also. He was quiet and kept to himself but performed many kind acts behind the scenes.
Bill was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, the NRA, and the waterboard at Big Sky.
His family would like to express their gratitude to the Solace Hospice Team and Jennifer Roderick for being there for Bill and taking care of him. Additionally, the family would like to thank Brandon Day for his help in taking care of Bill in his final months.
Bill is survived by two sons and one daughter: Bill Stanton (Ruth Harmon), Steven Stanton, and Jennifer Roderick; sister, Carolee Hamilton and brother, Merlin Mitchell; his grandchildren, Olivia (Bryan) Dozier, Billy Stanton, Victoria Prouty, and Summer Havens; as well as a niece, Sherrilyn Williams. He was preceded in death by his parents, Iva Mitchell and Velma Brown; brother, Neil Mitchell; wife, Jacqueline Mitchell; and a daughter, Parker Kar.

No services will be held at this time.
