Herbert Arden Dodge was born to Keith and Rachel Dodge of Ucon, Idaho on Feb 20, 1934. Herb grew up in southern Idaho. He did a short stint in the US Army as an MP serving in Korea at the end of the Korean War. After returning home he met the Love of his life Carol J. Hobbs of Idaho Falls.
Herb and Carol were married July 16 1960 they have seven children, Pam (Brian) Haynes of Fairfield, Mt., Frank (Whitney) Dodge of Pocatello, Colleen Dodge of Council, Id, Sharon(Paul) Burrows of Indianola, Ia. , Jennifer (Tim)Hansen of Boise, Gary ( Jennifer) Dodge of Longmont, Co. ,Phillip ( Darcy)Dodge of Berthoud, Co.,17 grandchildren, and 7 great grandchildren.
Herb Farmed for many years and was part owner in a trucking company hauling logs and ore. They then moved to Ely, NV. Herb worked at the Gold mines until retirement. Two years after retirement they moved to Pocatello. Herb enjoyed wood working and being grandpa to not only his own grandkids but the neighborhood kids as well.
When you look in the dictionary under the word Love it says refer to Herb Dodge. His Love for his wife is beyond measure. This spills throughout his entire family.
Monday Jan 13, 2014 Herb has taken the journey to be with his father in heaven. Where he can keep a eye on his entire family. Dad we miss you and Love you forever.
Funeral services for Herb will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, January 17, 2014 at the Kinghorn LDS Chapel at 1700 Kinghorn Road. Family will receive friends at a viewing that will be held an hour prior to services at the church.
