Gary Dean Wynn was born on January 12, 1943 in Pocatello, ID. He passed away on August 14 2021 with his family in attendance.
Gary was the 6th son of Harley Benjamin and Velma Marie Wynn, he attended schools in Pocatello, Grace and Bancroft till the family finally settled in Tyhee.
Gary graduated from Pocatello High school in 1961, where he participated in high school rodeo where he rode bulls, calf roped, and his favorite event steer wrestling. He even qualified for Nationals, but was unable to attend. Gary spent many years rodeoing with the ICA and EIRA (now IMPRA). On Dec. 6, 1967 he married Kathleen Lister and the two began their life together in Orlan Moons basement apartment. They would soon start their family in 1968 their son would be born Gary Van, a daughter would follow in 1972 Diane Kay and one more daughter in 1977 Rachel Theresa.
Gary worked as a heavy equipment operator most of his life. He worked for Bannock County Road and bridge for 18 years keeping the roads of Rapid Creek clear and safe. He was a 4-h Leader, a rodeo dad and always willing to lend a hand to anyone who asked or just needed it.
Gary is survived by his wife of 53 years Kathleen Inkom, ID, son Van (Connie) Wynn of Downey ID, daughter Diane (RJ) Clappier of Pocatello, ID, and daughter Rachel (Jason) Baca of Inkom, ID. 7 Grandchildren, Tyler (Jennifer) Wynn, Fort Bliss El Paso, Ann Clappier (Alex Thompson)Boise, ID, Ben (Autumn) Clappier Pocatello, ID, Hailey Wynn (Kden Thornock) Montpelier, ID, Jack Wynn Downey, ID, Matti Baca, Inkom, ID, Harley Baca, Inkom, ID. 4 Great Grandchildren, Ryleigh, Carsyn, Sayler, Braelynn, with the first great grandson to be born at any time.
A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday August, 20, 2021 with a visitation from 12:30-1:30 PM prior to the service both at the Inkom LDS Rapid Creek Ward Building, 801 North Rapid Creed Rd, Inkom, Idaho 83245
The family would like to give a huge thank you to Katelyn, Mary and the entire Encompass Home Health and Hospice team for the great care they gave to Gary and our family. They truly went above and beyond.
