Wilks Funeral Home began as a floorplan that was sketched out on a piece of scratch paper, and kept in a night stand drawer. It had been a goal of Brock Wilks to establish a funeral home since he began his career in funeral service in 2002. A career path that had never occurred to him until he attended a chance tour of a funeral home that was part of a university class he was taking called, "World Religions." The tour planted in him an inspiration in funeral service that was encouraged by his soon to be wife, Laci. He started as an apprentice funeral director at Colonial Funeral Home in Pocatello, Idaho, the largest funeral service provider in Bannock County. During his time there, Brock gained valuable experience assisting grieving families and forged close bonds with colleagues like Jared Clinger and Craig Barnes.
